In 2003, together with the other commemoratives, Kappa launched a 'luxury' commemorative model, with a numbered label an...d limited edition. The shirt, in addition to the golden details, from the 100 years of Grêmio logo also had an allusion to Grêmio's 1st place in the CBF ranking. Only 2003 units were made of it and were sold for a trifle of R$ 500.00. For fans who couldn't afford it, Grêmio launched a popular version of it, which didn't have the gold details and was sold at a more affordable price. Along with the shirt came a certificate, a letter the club president and the buyer was also registered by the code, which was stamped on each shirt numbered from 1 to 2003, in the Olympic stadium memorial.
At the time, some shirts ended up leaving the factory without the code and were sold without the certificate and the letter, for less than R$ 50.00. They were identical shirts, including shields and embroidered details, but as they do not have a letter from the president, certificate and the code stamped on them, they were sold for 10% of the price. It is not known for sure why they were sold, if it was the club's decision, if they leaked improperly, if they were second-line shirts with minor defects, there are several hypotheses, but we don't know for sure.
