In order to play in the first-ever Bundesliga season, VfB Stuttgart had to fulfill several requirements like having a st...adium with a capacity of at least 35.000 seats. Additionally, Bundesliga wanted teams to have floodlights for the dark winter months, but VfB Stuttgart did not have floodlights prior to the 1963-64 season. Therefore, the city of Stuttgart helped out, and this is also the reason for Stuttgart wearing a yellow football shirt with black accents such as the collar or sleeve cuffs. Black and yellow are the colors of the city of Stuttgart, and Borussia Dortmund.
